Vlad C. Vasile, M.D., Ph.D.

Vlad C. Vasile, M.D., Ph.D., is a Consultant Preventive Cardiologist, an Associate Professor of Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Laboratory Medicine. He is a board-certified cardiologist with a joint appointment in Laboratory Medicine and Pathology where he serves as Co-Director of the Clinical Specialty Laboratory. He is the medical director of the Cardiovascular Health Clinic (Preventive Cardiology Clinic) and Practice Chair of the Preventive Cardiology Division. He has a research interest in cardiovascular biomarkers. He has expertise in cardiovascular disease prevention and risk factor management. He provides patient care in the Cardiovascular Health Clinic, Statin Intolerance Clinic, Familial Hypercholesterolemia Clinic and Early Atherosclerosis Clinic. He has a particular focus on niche cardiovascular biomarkers and lipids, as well as developing novel biomarkers of cardiovascular risk.
